Summer 2017 Newsletter

Just released – the summer 2017 edition of the East Side Elders Newsletter:

June 2017 Newsletter PDF

Inside, you will find an update on our expansion, first details on an exciting fundraising project, a volunteer opportunity highlight, and much more.  Our newsletter is fun and informative – please share it with anyone you think would enjoy it.  Seniors in Saint Paul: we would love to hear your ideas for articles!  Give us a call at 651-683-2326 and let us know what you would like to read in our next issue.

Starting with the summer edition, every issue of our newsletter will highlight one of our many volunteer opportunities.  We offer a variety of ways for you to get involved and help seniors on the East Side of Saint Paul – whether it’s driving seniors to appointments, visiting seniors in their homes, or simply changing a light bulb, we have options that will work for you.  In this issue, you can read more about our Friendly Visitor program.  Friendly visitors spend time with seniors and build a relationship that enriches that lives of both the senior and the volunteer.

This issue also includes some healthy eating tips and information about farmer’s markets in the area where you can purchase delicious, fresh, locally grown food.  This summer, you can enjoy bell peppers, onions, kale, and much more at the market.  Did you know that you can use your SNAP EBT card at the Saint Paul Farmer’s Market?  Visit their site for details!  Are you curious about the market but not sure how to get there?  Contact East Side Elders at 651-683-2326 to request a ride from one of our friendly volunteers.

If you are a business or organization that would like copies of our newsletter, please contact us at Info@EastSideElders.org or 651-683-2326.  We serve seniors on the East Side of Saint Paul, including Dayton’s Bluff, Conway-Battle Creek, and Payne-Phalen.  Our volunteers come to us from all over the Twin Cities area.
