Rhonda Battisto, Executive Director

I am very pleased to say ‘Hello’ to you as Dayton’s Bluff Seniors Living at Home Block Nurse Program new Executive Director. I look forward to carrying on the wonderful work that this program’s founder, board, staff and volunteers have done since its inception.  I am excited to be working with Dayton’s Bluff Seniors and building on its strong foundation and vision as we move forward. I am grateful that DBS founder and custodian of the organization’s living history, Maryann Chowen; she has stayed in touch and shares her wisdom.   There is much for us to look forward to, as we work in service in our community supporting our elders and their caregivers.

My personal history includes a strong, lifelong interest in natural holistic wellness.  While I was a cosmetologist and co-owner of my family retail and wholesale appliance business, I studied homeopathy extensively and attended workshops on Cranio-sacral Bodywork, Inner Peace, Light Therapy, Reflexology, Memory Training, and Neighborhood Leadership. I am a Spring Forest Qigong Master Healer and Certified Instructor. While I was the Associate Director for Internal Operations of the SFQ International Guild, I also volunteered as the Guild ReachOut Program coordinator of volunteers, and worked to introduce Spring Forest Qigong volunteer healers to Dayton’s Bluff Seniors for the ‘Love Grows Here’ (LGH) Wellness Center.  I enjoyed being Event Coordinator for SFQ Workshops held at Normandale Community College and worked as a volunteer teacher at Pueblo Ingles, an adult English immersion program in Spain.

I began a new endeavor in 2011, offering healing support services, SFQ workshops, information sessions, as well as event support and volunteer coordination services, internationally. I began working for Dayton’s Bluff Seniors coordinating complementary and alternative modality volunteer healers for LGH and subsequently joined the Dayton’s Bluff Seniors board of directors.  I served on the finance committee and enjoyed being on the team to plan and implement our first signature fundraising event; a spaghetti dinner with great entertainment and an auction.  I am so grateful for the involvement of the board and our community members and businesses.  We can’t do this work without you!

I have lived on Saint Paul’s East Side for over 27 years and enjoy life with my family, friends, community involvement, nature, animals, being active, writing, volunteering, travel, helping others to heal, and my daily SFQ practice.
