Helping Hands

Minnesotans know that spring can often mean one last snowstorm.  But that doesn’t make it any easier to wake up to a winter wonderland and have to deal with the cleanup!  As you put on your winter boots and head out with your shovel or snowblower, think about how you can also help seniors living in your community.

You can make your block safer for older adults – and all community members – by keeping sidewalks clear.  If everyone pitches in, we can work together to build a community that is safe and welcoming to everybody.  Maybe your kids can shovel for the neighbor next door who has trouble keeping his sidewalk clear.  Or maybe you can run your snowblower down a few extra sidewalks.  These acts of kindness are what being part of a community is all about!
